Catch a Wave at the Pipeline

January 2, 2008 Dad and Mom were able to go to Hawaii courtesy of BYU Hawaii. Their testing system needed to be rebuilt, so Dad snagged John Dexter from BYU Idaho and off we went. We were able to spend almost 2 weeks there. Dad and John had to work, but we got a few hours off one afternoon, and had the weekends to play like tourists, go to the Swap Meet, the Pineapple Plantation for pineapple ice cream, and Matsumoto's for their world-famous shave ice.

We hit the Pipeline on the North Shore at just the right time to see the 30 foot waves and the surfers. This was just like the competitions you see on television.

Dad disembarking from the USS Bowfin

Can you imagine claustrophobic Dad on a submarine? He's always wanted to tour the USS Bowfin when we've been in Hawaii in the past, but never took the chance. This time he and John took the tour, and Dad said it really wasn't too bad, but he'd never be able to go out to sea for any length of time with all the sailors aboard. He said the tour was really kind of cool.

Disney Land 2006

Just One Year Ago!

Why not start this off by remembering our DISNEYLAND trip! Yep it's been just one year. Who's ready to go back! I know I am but I don't know about taking all 5 kidos with me. Here is everyone that went last year. We were so glad to have Grandma Great with us. A trip to remember! Here are a few pitctures to remember the trip!

The Grandma's found the easiest way around the park was to rent these power wheel chairs.... and the grandkids jumped on as often as they could get away with it. Wow was a life saver these were!
Not even with Uncle Glen's help could the gandkids get the sword out of the Stone here in Fantasy Land!

This is the Bear River Ride in California Adventures Park....And I think this was Grandma Great's favorite ride... ha ha ha She was the only one to get totally drenched on this ride. She got off this ride and went into the gift shop to get a hat because there was no hope for the hair that day.

Nathan must have great insurace coverage to let Isaac drive, boy it was bumper to bumper traffic in Bugs Land!

Jaxon likes his brand new first set of Mickey Mouse Ears! He was the youngest one on the Trip!
